Privacy & Cookies

This notice explains how Manor Furniture uses personal information when you browse www.manorfurniture.co.uk, use its comparison and shortlist features, or contact us about the website. Manor Furniture is an affiliate information website. We do not take payment for furniture or receive access to the details of an order you place on Amazon.

Who to contact

Manor Furniture is responsible for the information it processes through this website. Use our Contact page for a privacy enquiry, an access request or a correction. Explain that your message concerns privacy and include only what is needed for us to identify the relevant enquiry or website interaction. Please do not send passwords, payment-card details or identity documents unless an appropriate verification method has first been agreed.

Information from your visit

Delivering and protecting a website involves processing technical information such as an IP address, requested page, time of access, browser information and error or security events. The hosting and security services used to run the website may record this information in operational logs. We use it to provide pages, investigate faults, prevent abuse and keep the website working. These are legitimate interests in operating a reliable and secure website.

This build does not enable Google Analytics, advertising pixels or visitor-behaviour reporting. It does not send comparison selections to an analytics service. We have also disabled WooCommerce order-attribution tracking. Adding optional tracking in future would require this notice and the relevant consent arrangements to be updated first.

Messages you send us

When you contact us, we process the name, email address, subject and message you choose to provide, together with the information needed to deliver and protect the form. Your message is sent to the website’s contact mailbox. We use it to respond to the enquiry, investigate a reported problem and keep a relevant record of the correspondence. Our basis is our legitimate interest in handling website enquiries, and, where applicable, meeting a legal obligation or responding to the exercise of a data-protection right.

Contact messages are not furniture orders. Do not include sensitive information that is unnecessary for the enquiry. The contact form uses Contact Form 7. Where a Cloudflare Turnstile anti-spam check is displayed, Cloudflare also processes technical information to assess whether the interaction is legitimate; its own privacy information explains that processing.

Shortlists, comparisons and necessary storage

Saving an item to your shortlist uses WooCommerce’s basket-session mechanism as a planning tool. Cookies identify the browser’s shortlist session and help keep the displayed item count consistent. The shortlist is not an order, price reservation or record of a completed purchase. The website’s comparison feature stores selected product identifiers in your browser’s local storage, so your choices can remain available when you move between pages.

Typical shortlist cookie names include woocommerce_items_in_cart, woocommerce_cart_hash and a cookie beginning wp_woocommerce_session_. The comparison selection uses the local-storage key aisbCompare. The shortlist-count display may use session storage with the key aisbShortlistCount. WordPress also uses cookies for authorised administrator sign-in and security. Dismissing the website’s affiliate notice can set a cookie beginning store_notice so the notice stays dismissed in that browser. These functions are different from advertising or audience-measurement cookies.

Session storage normally lasts for the browser-tab session. Comparison choices in local storage can remain until you remove them or clear the website’s stored data in your browser. Shortlist-session expiry is managed by WooCommerce; clearing this website’s cookies also removes the browser’s connection to its saved session. You can use browser settings to inspect or delete cookies and local storage. Blocking necessary storage may stop the shortlist, comparison or contact-security features from working as expected.

Amazon and other external links

Amazon affiliate links include our Associates tracking identifier. When you follow one, Amazon receives the request to its website and may use cookies or other technologies under its own privacy and cookie notices. This can allow an eligible referral to be attributed to Manor Furniture. It does not give us access to your Amazon password, payment information or delivery address.

We may receive affiliate-programme reports about referrals and qualifying purchases. A click or browser handoff is not, by itself, proof that a sale occurred. Manufacturer links, source references and photograph-credit links also lead to websites with their own privacy practices. We do not control those websites. Product and room photographs uploaded into our own media library are served from this website rather than requiring a visit to the original photographer’s website simply to view them.

Service providers and retention

Hosting, email delivery, website support and security providers may process information where needed to provide their services. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or reasonably necessary to deal with abuse or a legal claim. We do not sell contact-enquiry information or use it to add you to a marketing mailing list.

We retain enquiry information for the time reasonably needed to handle the matter and any relevant follow-up, dispute or legal requirement. Operational logs and backups follow the retention arrangements of the services running the website. The appropriate period depends on the purpose and the circumstances rather than a promise that every item is deleted on the same day. Ask through the Contact page for information about a particular record. Some service providers may process information outside the UK; the safeguards and locations depend on the provider and service involved.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law gives you rights to request access to personal information, correction, erasure, restriction or portability, and to object to certain processing. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw that consent. These rights are not absolute and may be subject to lawful exceptions. We may need proportionate information to verify a request before disclosing personal information.

You can raise a concern with us through the Contact page or complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. This notice may be updated when the website’s features or processing arrangements change.
