Bookcases & Shelving
Bookcases and shelving should be matched to the items being stored. Shelf depth, opening height and per-shelf load guidance can matter more than the cabinet's total height. Tall units also need appropriate anti-tip fixing. Compare your largest books, folders or display items with the usable shelf measurements and remember that skirting boards can prevent some units sitting flush to the wall.

Measure the objects as well as the bookcase
Shelf depth and opening height determine what actually fits. Tall shelving also needs the appropriate anti-tip fixing and allowance for skirting boards.
