How We Choose and Describe Furniture

Manor Furniture helps you research furniture before choosing an offer on Amazon.co.uk. This page explains what our catalogue information means, what it does not establish and how we distinguish product photography from room inspiration.

Research is not a claim of hands-on testing

Unless a page specifically describes a hands-on test and how it was carried out, we have not physically tested the furniture. Our product overviews use manufacturer material, published product references and editorial analysis. We do not invent buyer reviews, star ratings, test results or personal experiences.

Suitability notes explain trade-offs rather than declaring a product right for everyone. A compact cabinet may save floor space but offer less usable storage. An open shelf may be convenient but leave its contents visible. Your room, measurements and intended use should decide the final choice.

Exact models and variations matter

We match product references by model, size, finish and included pieces, not merely by a similar photograph. Manufacturer and retailer naming can differ, particularly when a range has changed branding. Relevant model or naming differences are recorded where they affect how to read an overview.

Before buying, check the variation selected on Amazon, the seller and the included quantity. A photograph of a furnished room does not mean that all its contents are supplied, and a photograph of one chair does not establish whether the selected offer is for one, two or a larger set.

Useful specifications, with uncertainties identified

Our comparisons focus on available information such as dimensions, materials, storage layout and assembly. An outside measurement is not a substitute for an internal drawer or shelf opening. A colour name such as oak or walnut does not establish solid-wood construction. Where a useful detail is missing or published sources conflict, we should identify that limitation or omit the disputed figure rather than guess.

Follow the instructions and load limits supplied for the exact item. A research note does not replace a manufacturer’s assembly, wall-fixing, ventilation or safety guidance. Measure the room and delivery route before ordering, especially where fit is tight.

Product images and editorial room photographs

Individual product images are sourced as product photographs, with their source recorded. Manufacturer photographs used for product coverage remain the manufacturer’s copyright material and are not an unrestricted image library for visitors to reuse. Styled accessories are not included unless the particular offer says they are.

Room photographs used on the homepage, department tiles and guides are editorial inspiration. They illustrate a layout or atmosphere, not a complete set of catalogue products. Photographer credits appear with the media or in the relevant guide. An illustration, where used, must not be presented as a photograph of a product we have tested.

No manually maintained live prices

This catalogue does not currently display live Amazon prices or stock information. A published overview or saved shortlist does not mean an item is currently in stock, that a particular seller is offering it or that a price has been reserved. Check Amazon for the current offer, delivery charges and returns arrangements before ordering.

How the website earns money

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. The catalogue contains affiliate advertising links: qualifying purchases through those links earn a commission. Manor Furniture is not the seller, does not take payment for furniture and does not fulfil orders. See the affiliate disclosure for more information.

Corrections

Product information can change. To report a correction, use our Contact page and include the affected page address, the exact model and a link to current manufacturer information where available. For an order, delivery or return, contact Amazon or the seller handling that purchase.
